Abachi
Abachi, also known as Ayous, is a tropical hardwood typically sourced from West and Central Africa. In the context of timber mouldings, it is prized for its light weight, pale cream-to-yellow color, and fine, even texture. It is relatively soft compared to many hardwoods, making it easy to machine, sand, and finish. Abachi is often selected for mouldings where a stable, smooth, and consistent surface is needed, especially for painted finishes, as it accepts coatings well. Due to its stability, it is less prone to warping, which makes it an excellent choice for interior architectural profiles.
